CRANIO FACIAL DEFORMITY:

In a normal looking face, the distance between the two eyes should be roughly 30 to 35 mm in children. Even a slight increase makes a huge difference in the child appearance. Orbital Hypertelorism is the condition that refers to an abnormally increased distance between the two eyes measuring more than 35 mm in children. In this condition, the eyes are so wide apart that the nose appears broad. All the structures that normally occur between the eyes are also displaced. Sometimes the brain is positioned lower, and is found hanging between the eyes. This condition occurs since birth and can occur alone or as manifestation of other birth deformities. These deformities can be surgically corrected by reshaping the skull bones to achieve the round contour, allowing the brain to get its space to grow normally. This distance between the eyes can also be corrected to reconstruct and restore a harmony in the facial appearance of the child to live in a normal life and thrive in the world.
